My favourite soaps now have an import restriction because they contain essential oils. I found this out when I visited Semperviva yesterday to stock up. Yes, our scandal-plagued gov't, charged not only with wasting money, but stealing hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars, has decided that essential oils from Europe are dangerous (or something) and won't let any product in that has these oils. Who are these useless bureaucrats and what planet are they from? If anyone has seen lavendar fields in Canada in the last hundred years, please let me know because as far as I know we don't have a huge export in flowers or herbs. I intend to write a few letters. If I want to use use soap from Provence, not DIAL, I should be able to buy it in stores here.
