dictation's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chemical City I had 150 calories left to "play with" at the end of the day and was craving something sweet so I checked out a few lo-cal recipes using non-fat, sugar-free chocolate pudding and non-fat whipped cream which translates into Cool Whip. A zillion pins pricked my conscience at the thought of ingesting Cool Whip. But I ran to Safeway to buy this artificial crap and brought it home and began working it up into a "parfait." The colour of the pudding was a cross between dark brown and brown-black and looked like a puddle of guck from an industrial mine. It tasted as gross as it looked, so I threw it out. The Cool Whip "nutritional" page on Kraft.com said the stuff has no trans fats - that's right, on the page they state it has 0. But the label on the tub says it has partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil and that means it does. I had four tablespoons before I checked the label and tossed it. It's too sweet anyway. So much for satisfying a craving. I ate blueberries. Good ol blueberries, produced by nature, don't need no stinkin label. 9:31 p.m. - 2004-03-12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
