A message for mighty mouse

"I really need you to make sure that Mr. Harper does not take over the prime ministership. Why would you want to be like us?" U.S. filmmaker Michael Moore on why he's releasing his movie Fahrenheit 9/11 before voting day.

I don't mind Michael Moore expressing his disdain for right wing assholes like Stephen Harper, but his patronizing "daddy knows best" language is so typically, unconsciously American. Countries the world over detest this about the United States. "America wants you to do it this way."* A major turn off.

(Not all, but a considerable number of) Americans ridicule Canada because we aren't BIG and POWERFUL the way America is, but isn't it interesting how, when it comes to our decisions, our policies, and our elections, they "really need" us to do what they "want." George Bush is "concerned" too.

I won't be voting Conservative...you couldn't pay me, but it's my/our business eh? Stay out of it.

*(Is there a country on the planet that isn't inferior to the United States according to Americans? The reason many Americans put Canadian flags on their backpacks and suitcases when they travel - they've been doing it for eons - is because people the world over have come to detest American arrogance. You'd think they'd learn after awhile.)
